Work within our community

School Nursing - Careers Talk

Today, the school nursing team visited St Alban's to deliver a careers talk to our KS2 children, offering a fantastic opportunity to explore the wide range of roles within the NHS. Today's session gave children a valuable insight into the vital work carried out by school nurses. Children learned about the importance of strong communication skills in this profession and how these are essential when supporting and caring for others. They were also encouraged to ask questions, gaining a clearer understanding of what the role involves on a day to day basis. We can't wait for further visits from other sectors to inspire our children about future careers available!

March 2025

Our school council recently had the opportunity to work alongside the Public Health Officer from Well Doncaster, exploring the local area and community. They discussed the current services and amenities available to all generations, with a particular focus on areas such as food and dining, activities, leisure, and sports. The school council members shared their fresh ideas for improving the local area, suggesting initiatives that would benefit everyone. This collaborative effort marks the beginning of a strong partnership between our school and Well Doncaster. Moving forward, the school council members will attend PAG meetings, where they will have the chance to see firsthand how their ideas and discussions can lead to positive changes within the community.

Have your say... Flower Park Developments

January 2025

Our children had an incredible opportunity to visit the Tom Hill Youth Hub, where they worked alongside Well Doncaster staff and architects to share their ideas and thoughts on the exciting new developments for Flower Park in Denaby Main. Their creativity and insight played a key role in shaping the vision for the park, ensuring it becomes a space that reflects the needs and interests of the local community. By engaging in discussions and hands-on activities, they helped bring fresh perspectives to the project! Their involvement will help create a welcoming and inclusive environment, making this a successful and meaningful transformation for everyone.

Our visit to Harrogate Court -Residential Home

The children and residents exchanged lots of knowledge and different experiences through games, discussions and activities! This day was dedicated to our community and learning how we can have a greater understanding of different generations when we come together.
