Mini Vinnies Team 24-25

We are delighted to introduce our new Mini Vinnie team for the 2024-2025 academic year. The children are already busy planning their first project aimed at helping those in our community who may not have enough food this harvest. Their ideas involve the help of the whole school which the Mini Vinnies will communicate to the rest of the children later this week. Watch this space to find out how you can help!

Mini Vinnies - Toy Appeal 2023

As we enter the season of Advent, lets take time this year to think about the true value of Christmas...

'It is better to give than to receive'

At Christmas, it is easy to get wrapped up in the excitement of what we want, when actually we can get so much enjoyment out of giving to others.

This year we are donating toys to Doncaster Children's Hospital - Please help us with our mission!

Toy Appeal Update! 11/12/2023

Today we received a lovely message from the staff at Doncaster Children's Hospital...

'Today we received a very generous donation from staff and children at St Alban's Catholic Primary and Nursery School in Denaby, Doncaster!

Mrs Diver, who teaches year 4 students at the school, brought round 12 gifts to the Children's Ward Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

The Gifts were neatly wrapped by year four students, who are around eight-years old, as part of the Mini Vinnie programme, a scheme run by the catholic school to help people in need.

Thank You so much to all of the pupils of year four- Mini Vinnies - what fantastic wrapping skills!

Good Shepherd Appeal 2022

Please find attached the news report that our Mini Vinnies have produced as part of our Good Shepherd Appeal and Lenten learning journey at St Alban's.

Following the News Letter Report our school received a lovely reply from a lady called Candida from the Good Shepherd Appeal!

Take a look ...

"Dear St Albans - and especially the Mini Vinnies,

What a fabulous Newsletter you have written - and to celebrate such wonderful news too!

I was absolutely AMAZED to hear that your sponsored run covered the distance all the way from Doncaster to Lourdes... Wow!! And how wonderful that everyone at school - children, teachers and their families - connected together to make that possible!

And I was equally amazed to hear how much money you managed to raise for the Good Shepherd Appeal too - £1,737 is INCREDIBLE!!

I am also delighted to hear about your faith garden, and how you have all been exploring mindfulness during Lent. We all need to find times of peace and calm in our busy lives, and I am sure your faith garden will become a much-loved 'happy place'.  And the best bit is that it will look very different at different times of year!

Well done also on your Easter cards and prayer cards, and well done to Year 5 for their performance of the Stations of the Cross. It sounds as if the whole school has been spending time looking after the needs of other people... And that reminds me of Jesus himself!  What a loving community you are!

May God bless you all, and your families,

 Candida."
