After the rain, there is always a rainbow! Here are our Selby children learning from home.
Selby have been engrossed in their H20 learning. They have been learning all about the Doncaster floods in 2019 and 2012 and writing newspaper reports about them and publishing them on Microsoft Publisher.
They also have been learning how important water is to the growth and survival of plants by growing their own cress in different conditions.
In art, the children have also used water to make salt dough in preparation for making our flower sculptures. Children designed their sculpture and used a variety of tools to create their design. They then painted and evaluated their sculptures!
During PE we have been learning an awesome Water Cycle dance, performing a series of simple movements with attitude! Ask your child to show you their favourite moves!
Our new Selby class have enjoyed many events in these first few weeks of Autumn term and our 'Mission' topic! Here we are orienteering on our field of collieries completing a quiz on the historic local mines as part of our on-going Pit Sense project. Rievaulx's Y6s were a superb help!
