Admissions

St. Alban’s Catholic Primary School is a Church-aided school in the Diocese of Hallam maintained by Doncaster LA. This means that the members of Parish and the Diocese of Hallam have contributed towards the cost of building the school and continue to care for its buildings and its people.

St. Alban’s provides distinctive Christ-centred, Catholic education for children of all faiths and those of none, aged 2+ to 11+ years, with priority being given to children who live and worship within the parish of St. Albanâ??s Denaby Main or Blessed English Martyrs, Mexborough.

We are a Voluntary Aided School and our Governing Body is responsible for admissions. It is guided in that responsibility by the requirements of law, by advice from the Diocesan Trustees and its duty to the Catholic community and the Common Good.  We serve our local communities of Denaby, Conisbrough and Mexborough and aim to offer the very best education for children of both a faith background and those of no faith.

In-Year Applications

An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places.  An application should be made to the school by completing the in-year admissions application form online at   Primary admissions - Doncaster Council

Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in the admission arrangements for 2023, will be applied.

Parents are advised to read the admission arrangements carefully before making their application.

If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list.  Please see the admission arrangements for more details.

You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing as soon as possible.  Applicants must be informed of the outcome of their application within 15 school days of receipt, but the aim is to notify applicants of the outcome of their application within 10 school days of receipt.

You have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel if your application is unsuccessful.
