Positive Mental Health
We encourage all of our children to be positive individuals who can reflect, empathise and reach their goals in life! We enjoy learning outside as much as we can, on the active mile track or playing games or learning in our Forest School area or outside classroom. Everyday we engage in prayer and reflection, and other mindfulness activities including, meditation, yoga and taking time to listen to a variety of music.
At St Alban's we have a variety of staff who support children and adults including our Counsellor, Mrs Barrott, our Mental Health First Aider, Miss Sellars, our Personal, Social and Emotional Leader, Miss Gibson, our Relationship and Health Leader, Mrs Dyson, our Mental Health Leader for Children, Mrs Carter-Ward, and our Mental Health Leaders for adults, Miss Brennan and Mrs Ebsworth. As a team, we aim to help all those in need of our support from a meet and greet in a morning to playing a game at break time or a focused weekly 1:1 session.
Please see Mrs Ebsworth or Mrs Carter-Ward if you would like support with your child's mental well-being.
As we often do, we ask the people central to our mission - our children to see what they think. Here is a questionnaire for our children to complete:
At St Alban's we encourage all of our children and staff to actively travel to school to ensure an active, positive, healthy start to the school day! It is a joy watching the children arrive on foot and on their bikes and scooters every morning! Bikes and scooters are kept safe in our very own bike and scooter storage, we engage with local and national active travel competitions and enjoy when we win prizes!
